My FatherÂ
In life you are partly who your family & parents influence you to become. My father Never had parents & was left as a baby due to being born ill, it resulted in an awful childhood which made him vow to make sure when he had his own family that he could love, care for, teach and make them want for nothing and not experience what he had gone through.
But he had been given the gift of creating through design & his amazing piano playing. He had learnt the piano by ear , which was a gift all of its own, he could sit in front of a piano on which he had not had a lesson and play what he had heard. Anything he had heard he could play. It was partly his music that brought him to my mother’s world or music.
As a couple they encouraged music & art & to love, care & share with others. He though would make sure that I understood about those who had nothing, had no one to love or care for them, had no one who understood, no one to encourage them, and no one to believe in them.
This became part of who I was & my own beliefs. It encouraged me even as a child to help other kids who were less fortunate. Resulting in me teaching young children to play instruments for free when i was 13years old to when I was 29 years old.
When it came to a time I had my own kids, circumstances resulted in one of them being born in hospital & staying in hospital for nearly a year. In that time i bonded with parents i cried with parents as babies lost their fights to live. That time broke me inside more than i can ever explain. That time though showed me the love and compassion of a man called Johnny Depp always attending The Children's Hospital the Evelina Hospital, St Thomas Hospital in London as Jack Sparrow or just as himself. Most of the time NO one knew about his visits, because he just did it because he cared and wanted to. He made so many children of so many different ages, smile, laugh and engage. Children who often didn’t engage or talk, let alone laugh.

The thing is no one talks about this but this did so much for all those Childrens Mental Health and even their parents. No one can truly explain those dark moments where life disappears to the sound of the rhythm of a beep, day in day out, night after night. To shouts of i need help now, to the sound of someone nearby being told there is nothing we can do. But to have someone like Johnny Care and break those moments for the kids who knew nothing else was worth more than any money or any physical gift.

When you come out of a situation like this you pray and hope for all good things.
My father Suddenly fell seriously ill. In the space of 6 weeks he went from being fairly fit, busy and organising things, to a medical emergency in front of me, to a day later him passing away.
My life, world and everything was crumbling at a rate. There were also other things happening. But the person who had given me so much, my friend and mentor throughout the whole of my life was suddenly gone.
Captain Kori
Some years later, when I had My Music and Art gifts helping me and helping others, helping me out of my own dark places and finding light. I had been busy helping Johnny Depp (though he did not know directly) because of what I had witnessed myself over a 12-month period. I was helping Phil with doing stuff for Camhs etc. It was now that I found the story of Kori Stovell. His story resonated so much with me and i could see and understand the pain in his mother. I knew things from the updates where Kori had clearly known so much pain because of his health and he just couldn’t understand why him, to points of darkness, to him wanting to help others. He had decided he wanted his story out there so that it could help other families other kids, and outsiders understand everything about this kind of situation. He would smile, and laugh and give so much back without even knowing half the time knowing he was doing that.
I followed this story of this amazing boy and his family. Kori loved Pirates, loved jokes and love fun. There were videos of him and his mum having fun on camera. There were images of pirate’s events. His mother Pixi clearly needed help though with Kori's own inner turmoils caused by his situation and pain.
It appeared often in these period of time from the height of summer into the Autumn months that as the darkness fell outside and the cold came that Kori was giving up the will because of he knew and had already experienced..
A few months into me following Kori’s story Make-A-Wish Organised a special request. In fact it was so special the world got to know about it.
Kori had his own YouTube Channel (set up by the amazing Kuro creates who managed it for him) It was called Kraken the Box. It was even clear to me by this point that Kori wanted to be a Pirate. Those who followed knew him as Captain Kori. But he wanted to get a certain number of subscribers and even a silver Play button which meant he would need to reach 100k sub on youtube.. I had by this stage started to quickly make a Tiny Hero of Kori as a Pirate based on the cartoon characters of Captain Pugwash and Jake the Pirate, This was done for quickness to try and encourage people to follow him and raise awareness and get those subs up. But there were many others pushing for this, pushing his story and dream out there to everyone else by social media. This wasn’t just people from the midlands or the UK this was people from all over the world pushing this. But along came Johnny Depp (Through Make A Wish) and he made a very special video just for Kori with Johnny Depp playing Jack Sparrow, Kori's Hero. Jack Sparrow wanted everyone to sub to Kori, That he was Kori’s number one fan. The sketch even made jokes of modern tech etc It was Gold. (Johnny Depp did so much more than that too behind the scenes for Kori)
Things went viral. This really gave Kori the lift and belief he needed. Instead of weeks, Suddenly he had a mission and purpose. He had been lifted out of this Autumnal Darkness he had begun to fall into and suddenly he was like a lamb in the field in the spring months, full of energy and bounding around with belief. He got those subs and so many more. He got that play button. But he had a crew from all over the world, following him and making him smile and laugh.
In this period I got to know Kori from personal messaged to little personal videos. I got to know his mother and got to interact with Kuro Creates. Kuro wanted to fly, and he didn’t know so I made him a cartoon out the blue of Captain the Kori The pirate, He was so thankful. I never expected thanks and didn’t want it. But knowing he liked it knowing it made not only him smile but others meant so much more.
In Kori’s own videos it was always about others, and thanking people, and what his dreams were for those around him. Even when he had real poorly moments he tried to smile and send messages out to people.
Kori was with us all until July this year at which point he went off on a voyage beyond the stars.
BUT
Through Kori, I know him and know what he did for so many others. He has created a reference place for people to use so they can understand what to expect to see the pain and the low days, to see the smiles and happiness. He left a legacy on how to live. To help others, to share, to smile and to show kindness and manners to other people.
Through Kori I got to know his family, to know Pixi, to know Spanky, to know Kuro to know that they are continuing his fight to help others and to make a different. I urge you to subscribe to Kori’s channel which is still up as well as his Mothers channel as his last wish is to get his mum 100k and of course Kuro who is still working hard behind the scenes on things. Pixi wants to create a foundation in Koris name, and is currently fighting to make everyone from The mental health service, the NHS and the Government aware of the serious lack of awareness and help for children who are suffering with a Terminal Illness. This is important they each and every child need help in these moments, as well as their families.
